Wayne Bacon

Wayne Bacon has a long history of leadership and successful business development. Wayne owned and operated Mills Welding & Specialty Gases for 24 years before selling the company to Praxair in 2007. He was Chairman and CEO of Immunodiagnostics, a producer of biological research reagents for 12 years until 2012. Wayne is an investor in numerous startups and commercial properties in New York and Virginia. He served on numerous charitable boards in the community, including the Kaleida Health Foundation (former Treasurer) and the Buffalo Rotary Club (former President). Wayne holds an MBA in Marketing and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.

Wayne's entrepreneurial passion led him to co-found Garwood Medical Devices to focus on solutions to orthopedic implant biofilm infections. Under Wayne's leadership, Garwood Medical has fourteen patents granted and/or filed and being prosecuted here and abroad. Garwood Medical’s BioPrax™ device was granted FDA ‘Breakthrough Device’ designation. BioPrax™ is well on its way to bringing this revolutionary platform technology and treatment to market.
